Who will help me if I have a problem?

One of the big advantages of working for mydentist is our fantastic support network. There’s always someone available to assist you with any day-to-day issues. Our Clinical Directors and Clinical Support Managers will provide clinical support. While your Practice Manager, Area Manager and Regional Manager will provide practical support. Then there are a whole range of people at our central support centre who can assist you with everything from marketing and finance to recruitment and facilities. You can connect with them all via one phone number.

How many UDAs will I have to do?

It all depends on your level of experience. We’ll agree a contract with you that we both think is achievable. As we have a large number of clinicians and a large network of practices, we can structure your role to suit your personal circumstances.

Will I have clinical freedom?

Yes. We can confidently say you’ll have complete clinical freedom, as we believe our clinicians are best placed to make clinical decisions based on their education and experience. So, we won’t interfere with what you do best – treating patients. However we can provide support with things like planning if you want it. It’s what we’re here for.

How does the remuneration work?

If you’re successful at your interview, we’ll offer you a contract. You’ll then receive 50% of the gross UDA value and 50% of any private work. Lab bills are split 50-50 between you and mydentist. And your NHS remuneration is divided into 12 installments with a reconciliation of UDAs carried out each month.

What training and development will I receive?

Helping our clinicians to develop their skills is at the heart of everything we do. So, our whole management and support structure enables you to concentrate on patient care and develop your knowledge and career. Our new £multi-million training academy is at the forefront of our training, offering a variety of theoretical and hands-on courses. This is underpinned by a learning management system that has thousands of hours of free learning materials within its library.

Will I be able to relocate?

Yes. And we’ll do everything we can to support you. We appreciate that people’s lives change and you may want to move locations or take on a fresh challenge. As we’ve 650+ practices across the UK, we’re perfectly placed to help you find the role and practice you’re looking for. Whether you’re based in the UK or want to move here from Europe, our dedicated Relocation Manager will help you and your family to quickly settle in.

What other benefits will I receive?

As well as a competitive contract, you’ll be able to boost your income through private work and locum work at nearby mydentist practices. We’ll also pay 50% of your lab fees. You will benefit from the S5 Rotary System for Rotary Endodontics that we have rolled out across all practices. While you can also join hands-on training courses throughout the country and access our learning management systems and mydentist academy where many courses are offered at a discount rate.

Do I have control over my diary?

You’ll be in charge of how your diary is structured and how long you need for what appointment. You’ll also make sure it’s utilised as efficiently as possible. However, the team at your practice will book appointments for you.

What happens if I over deliver?

We review everyone’s performance on a monthly basis to make sure they are on target. If you get ahead of your target, your Area Manager will discuss the different options available to you. These will include ‘banking’ the excess for when you take a holiday or make up a shortfall if you don’t achieve target one month. We can also allocate extra UDAs or offer you locum work in neighbouring practices.

Will I have to start to build a patient list?

No. In most cases you’ll inherit a well-established list. On the very rare occasions this doesn’t happen, our call centre and marketing team will help to fill your diary and build your patient list.
